drew fremder

Drew Fremder joined The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own” in 2013. From 2013-2016, he served as a bugler in the Ceremonial Band before being appointed Associate Principal Trumpet of the Concert Band. Drew is a regular soloist with the band, a member of The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, and an active performer around the National Capitol region. He has performed in venues around the globe, including Carnegie Hall, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Winspear Center, TD Garden, Auditorio de Zaragoza, and Reina Sofia Palace of the Arts in Madrid with the first-ever American Orchestra to perform there. 

Hailing from Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Drew earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Indiana University in 2011 as a Jacobs Scholar and his Master’s from Baylor University in the spring of 2013. Drew won prizes at the National Trumpet Competition as a chamber musician from 2010-2013. He has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, Barclay Brass, Richmond Symphony, Maryland Symphony, Waco Symphony, Imperial Brass, Dallas Wind Symphony, and he attended the Brevard Music Festival in 2012. 

A father of two, Drew resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, Paige of Hey Next Paige photography. His primary teachers include Mark Niehaus, John Rommel, Wiff Rudd, Mark Schubert, and Mark Hughes.

kyle gordon

Kyle Gordon is the bass trombonist in The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Concert Band, which he joined in 2019. Prior to this position he was the tenured bass trombonist of the Houston Grand Opera, a position he held for 3 seasons. he is an active soloist and educator and has previously been on faculty at drake university and lone-star college kingwood.

Kyle received his Master of Music in trombone performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where he was awarded the Performer’s Certificate recognizing his outstanding work as a solo performer and was the winner of the brass concerto competition. Kyle received a bachelor’s degree in K-12 Instrumental and Vocal Music Education from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He has additional studies in early music and bass sackbut.

kyle spent his early years in southwest iowa where he was a tubist all the way through his undergraduate degree before seeing the light and switching to bass trombone full time. he has performed around the country including with the houston symphony and louisiana philharmonic orchestra.

married to the smartest person he knows, he and sabrina have one adorable energy filled daughter named penelope, a dog named bartok, and two cats, conn and holton.
